Save A Professor

Brought to you by the Executive Branch and Presidents of the Senior, Junior and Sophomore Classes

The Save A Professor program uses five dollars from each student's activities fee to create a fund to pay three professors a special $10,000 bonus annually for a three year term. The award is designed to encourage our best and favorite professors to stay at the College instead of seeking employment elsewhere. The program was approved by an overwhelming majority in a referendum of the student body in 2003 and plans were finalized by the SA Executive and Senate in 2004. Professors to receive the award are chosen through a joint process of the Student Assembly and the Office of the Provost.

For the 2004-2005 school year the $10,000 grant recipients are Margaret Saha, associate professor of biology; LuAnn Homza, associate professor of history; and Barbara King, professor of anthropology. The Student Assembly congratulates them on their selection. See this AP News Article for more details.
