Road to Richmond

Brought to you by the Executive Department of Public Affairs

The SA and President Nichol take students to Richmond every year to lobby legislators on behalf of William and Mary. This year, our Road to Richmond trip will take place on Tuesday, January 23rd. That's right - it's the day before classes start (except for you law and business students who will have already started). That means that you won't be missing any classes or any assignments by going to Richmond with us! The bad news is that the trip is early: to meet the schedules of politicians, we have to leave from the UC on the buses at 6:00am.

The good news is that you get breakfast on the bus, and then a fully catered breakfast with dozens of legislators once we get to Richmond. After breakfast, one bus will return to W&M, getting back around 9:15am. Everyone who can stay will visit the offices of senators and delegates, advocating for the College. The second bus arrives back at W&M by about 12:30.

For an extra bonus, everyone who comes is also invited to a private meeting with President Nichol to discuss our message and other things on your mind on Monday (the 22nd) at 7:30pm in the luxurious Board of Visitors meeting room in Blow Hall. If this sounds exciting to you, and you haven’t done so already, e-mail Seth Levey at , letting him know if you can make the planning meeting with President Nichol and which bus you want to ride back on Tuesday - early or late.

No previous lobbying experience is required; you just need to love William and Mary. All students, grads and undergrads, are welcome!
